The youth drop-in has outgrown its two-afternoon schedule. Last spring we averaged 34 students a night, up from 19 the year before — and the feedback from families was clear: more nights, please.

Starting Monday, September 14, the drop-in at Harbourlight Hall runs four afternoons a week:

  • Monday — 3:30–6:00 p.m. — open drop-in, snacks & games;
  • Tuesday — 3:30–6:00 p.m. — new! homework help with volunteer tutors;
  • Wednesday — 3:30–5:30 p.m. — drop-in, then everyone's welcome to stay for the community supper;
  • Friday — 6:00–9:00 p.m. — new! games night for grades 7–12.

As always, the drop-in is free, no registration required, and open to all students in grades 6–12. There's always a snack, a quiet corner, and an adult who's glad to see you.

Tutors and mentors wanted

The new Tuesday homework session needs two more volunteer tutors — if you're comfortable with middle-school math or English (or just patient and encouraging), we'd love to hear from you. Volunteers complete a short orientation and a police record check, which we arrange and pay for.

Call the office at 613-555-0148 or email hello@harbourlight.canadawebs.ca to get involved.
